Hoxton Beach runs the cafe in the beautiful Grade 2 listed lido at the far south of Hampstead Heath. Outside on the heath side we also have a falafel crepe and soup stall. Many consider Parliament Hill Fields the queen of the London County Council’s lidos (13 were built, four are still open), and it featured a large café when it opened in 1937. Ours takes up less than half of the original area but four years ago was given a heath-side service opening. It now complements our well-established neighbours the d’Aurias a little to the north near the tennis courts. During lockdown this café was our base for home deliveries and acquired a range of fruit, cheese, oils and honey and jams as well as our own breads cakes and viennoiserie. Our hot dishes of the day developed by our chef Amy Grüninger have become popular, as have our own dog treats with dog walkers.
